What's the difference between the Scrumptious and Essence Pillows?
We thought you'd never ask! Just kidding, we obviously anticipated this question. We made a short video explaining these differences that you can watch here: (Click Me!)
More of a reader? Here you go:
There are three main differences between the Scrumptious and Essence Side pillows:
1. The Essence uses a gel-based fill, while the Scrumptious line uses a copper-based fill. The copper-based fill is better at regulating temperature, and copper also has natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, which can help keep your pillow fresh for longer.
2. The Scrumptious Pillows have the structural ribbon going along the side of the pillow, which makes the pillow's surface more uniform. Because of this, it can maintain a more even profile across the entire surface of the pillow, where the Essence has more of a gradual taper at the edges.
3. The Essence pillow is a little bit of a lower profile, which some people prefer. They are both considered Queen Size pillows, with the same length and width, but because the Essence doesn't have the structural ribbon going around it, it is approximately 1" lower in profile than the Scrumptious Pillow. If you prefer more of a flatter pillow, the Essence is for you. If, however, you prefer a thicker pillow (or have broad shoulders), the Scrumptious is for you.
Other than that, they are both made with 100% CertiPUR-US certified foam and fiber, and have an almost identical feel. People really love both of them, and although there are some distinctions that make the Scrumptious the more premium product, we don't feel like the Essence is inferior in any way, just different.
How do I clean my pillow?
The outer fabric cover can be washed on cold and either hung, laid flat, or lightly tumble dried. The fill in our pillows is not designed to be washed, so it's important to remove the fill before washing your pillow.
The easiest way to keep your pillow clean, however, is to get one of our washable pillow cases for it (Click here!), and then that can very easily be removed and washed with your other bed linens. It also feels amazing, and will make your pillow sleep even cooler (I know, it doesn't seem possible - but it's true!)
Can I purchase more fill for my pillow?
Do your Side Pillows work for back and/or stomach sleepers too?
Absolutely they do!
Our curved Side Pillows are by far our most popular pillows, even though many of our customers are back and stomach sleepers. The curve allows you to stabilize your neck when you are on your back in a similar manner to a neck roll pillow, but is far more comfortable.
If you are a stomach sleeper, you can use the unique shape to fill in around your shoulder to give you a nice cushioned cocoon. What makes these pillows so great is how customizable they are.
Experiment with it and see what works the best for you :)
Do you have pillowcases available?
OMG do we ever!! We have pillowcases available (here) for all of our pillows. The ones we call "scrumptious pillowcases" are made from an incredibly soft, 100% organic bamboo fabric that actually makes your pillow COOLER. They are every bit as Scrumptious as the pillow going in it :) Now, if you want the BEST pillowcases in the world, we also make 100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcases custom fitted for our Side Pillows! You can find those HERE, and they are next level. Trust us - they are 100% worth it, and you will thank us later :)
What should I expect when I first get my Scrumptious pillow?
First of all, congratulations on your new pillow purchase!
When you first get your pillow, open up the packaging, and allow it a little bit of time to expand to its full height. Sometimes there is a bit of an odor from the Certipur-US material that goes away pretty quickly. This is normal, and not harmful in any way. You can read about what it means to be Certipur-US certified (here).
Once it has fully expanded, try it out! If you feel like it is too high for you, you can open up the zipper and remove some of the fill to really make it your own.
That’s it! You are now ready to experience life after a night of scrumptious sleep. Watch out world!
Do you make King Size pillows?
Do you make Standard Size pillows?
We make what we call our travel pillow (Click here!).
In reality it is closer to standard size than travel size, because we felt that the most important thing we could do with a travel pillow was to provide the support and comfort that you expect from the full size pillow in a convenient portable package.
We also include a pillowcase and carrying bag in the box with every travel pillow, so that you can take it with you anywhere and keep it clean while on the road.
If you are looking for a slightly smaller version of our pillows, this is the melon you are looking for.
Where are your pillows made?
All of our pillows are lovingly made by hand in Southern California.
Do your pillows have a trial period?
They sure do! We want you to LOVE your pillow, and we know that if you give it a chance, you will. That is why all of our pillows have a 60-day risk free trial (if purchased from our website). If you aren’t happy with it, simply (contact us) and request a return, and we will send you a pre-paid shipping label.
Do your pillows have a warranty?
All of our pillows come with a 3 year limited warranty against any defects in materials or workmanship. (See the detailed information by clicking here)
I just opened my new pillow and it has an odor. Is this normal?
This is absolutely normal. Our pillow is made from three different components, and two of those components are different types of virgin, Certipur-US certified gel based memory foam. There is usually a bit of an odor from this material that goes away pretty quickly. This is normal, and not harmful in any way. You can read about what it means to be Certipur-US certified (Click Me!).
Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! Sleep is universal, and we believe that the world would be a better place if everybody woke up refreshed and rejuvenated every morning. To make this dream a reality, we ship our pillows anywhere in the world :)
I love, love, LOVE my new pillow. How can I thank you?

As a small business, word of mouth about our products is what keeps us going!
California Residents - Questions about Prop. 65?
It is required by the state of California that we, as the seller of our products, inform the public about the possible presence of certain chemicals in our products. We at Honeydew sincerely believe that our products do not contain any of the chemicals covered under Proposition 65 in levels that would require this warning. In fact, our foam supplier has done the research and found that as of 10/27/22 our foam does not require this warning - you can read a letter from them stating this by clicking on this link.
That being said, we are a small family business and need to protect ourselves. In the interest of doing so, we feel it necessary to state this warning anyway, so here it is:
WARNING: This product contains a chemical (or chemicals) known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
Please note that Honeydew Sleep only uses CertiPUR-US® certified foam that is made with no ozone deleters, made without harmful flame-retardant chemicals (PBDEs, TDCPP & TCEP flame retardants), and without heavy metals.
At Honeydew Sleep, health is our only priority. That is why we came out with our pillows in the first place, and we would never, ever put anything into our pillows that we believed posed any kind of health risk at all. But again, in the interest of protecting ourselves, please assume that our products do require this warning (after all, Starbucks has to include it on all of their coffee, so we feel like there is no such thing as being too safe here). If you have any questions about our products or Proposition 65, please contact us. You can email us at email@example.com, or call/text us at (805) 477-9990.
