FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why should I invest in a better pillow?
Your pillow is the key to unlocking a truly restful, peaceful, sleep!
Because your pillow accounts for up to 30% of your sleep surface, if it is not right for you, it can ruin your sleep on even the most comfortable mattress.
If you think about it, your pillow has a massively important job in supporting your head, neck, shoulders, and upper back.
This means that in order to keep your spine in proper alignment, your pillow must be the perfect combination of the right shape, firmness, and height. If you pillow does not do all of these things just the right way for your unique body shape, it will not only affect your quality of sleep but also your quality of life!

Can I purchase more fill for my pillow?
Absolutely! We sell additional pre-mixed fill for our pillows (here). We encourage you to play mad scientist and come up with your very own Franken-pillow! Show us what you made on social media by tagging us @honeydewsleep.
How do I clean my pillow?
The fill in our pillows is not designed to be washed, however the zippered cover can be washed on cold with all of the fill removed. The easiest way to keep your pillow clean, however, is to get one of the washable pillow cases for it (here), and then that can very easily be removed and washed with your other bed linens in the washer and dryer. It also feels amazing. Win/win!
Is your Side Sleeper Pillow OK for back or stomach sleepers too?
Absolutely it is! Our Side Sleeper Pillow is by far our most popular pillow, even though many of our customers are back and stomach sleepers. The curve allows you to stabilize your neck when you are on your back in a similar manner to a neck roll pillow, but is far more comfortable. If you are a stomach sleeper, you can use the unique shape to fill in around your shoulder to give you a nice cushioned cocoon. What makes theses pillows so great is how customizable they are. Experiment with it and see what works the best for you :)
Do you make King Size pillows?
We do not. We only make our pillow in queen size because we feel like it is the perfect size for most people. Typically, people like to adjust their pillows while sleeping, and because King size pillows get so heavy, it becomes harder to do this without it negatively impacting your sleep in some way. Sorry about that! If you would like us to make our pillows in a larger size, tell us on social media @honeydewsleep. We want to make your dream pillow, so if enough people tell us we should be doing this, then we will do so. It’s that simple.
Do you make Standard Size pillows?
We make what we call our travel pillow (here). In reality it is closer to standard size than travel size, because we felt that the most important thing we could do with a travel pillow was to provide the support and comfort that you expect from the full size pillow in a convenient portable package. We also include a pillow case and carrying case with each of these pillows, so that you can take it with you anywhere and keep it clean while on the road. If you are looking for a smaller version of our pillow, this is the droid you are looking for.
What should I expect when I first get my Scrumptious pillow?
First of all, congratulations on your new pillow purchase! When you first get your pillow, open up the packaging, and allow it a little bit of time to expand to its full height. There is usually a bit of an odor from the Certipur-US material that goes away pretty quickly. This is normal, and not harmful in any way. You can read about what it means to be Certipur-US certified (here). Once it has fully expanded, try it out! If you feel like it is too high for you, you can open up the zipper and remove some of the fill to really make it your own. That’s it! You are now ready to experience life after a night of scrumptious sleep. Watch out world.
Isn’t this just another memory foam pillow?
No sir! Our pillow truly is unique. To start with, most memory foam pillows are made out of shredded foam scraps, which leads to a lumpy and inconsistent feel from pillow to pillow. We make our fill ourselves using 100% virgin materials, which means that we specifically use the same materials every single time, even though it is more expensive and labor intensive to do so. No scraps to be seen here. On top of that, memory foam is only one part of the fill that makes up our pillow. It is the way we combine these materials that gives our pillow its unique, doughy feel. This is what allows you to have a pillow that is both substantial and supportive, yet also conforming and soft. You have to feel it to believe it, but when you do, we know you will understand. There really is only one word for it: Scrumptious.
I just opened my new pillow and it has an odor. Is this normal?
This is absolutely normal. Our pillow is made from two different components, and one of those components is a virgin, Certipur-US certified gel memory foam. There is usually a bit of an odor from this material that goes away pretty quickly. This is normal, and not harmful in any way. You can read about what it means to be Certipur-US certified (here).
My neighbor/psychic/roommate’s dog told me memory foam is toxic. Does this mean your pillow is toxic?
No, it is not. Our pillow is made from two different components, and one of those components is a virgin, Certipur-US certified gel memory foam. There is a lot of hoopla on the internet about memory foam being toxic, but the fact that it is Certipur certified is how you know it is safe. This is the same testing system that is used by every major manufacturer in the bedding industry, and is generally considered to be the gold standard when it comes to foam safety certifications.
