Sleep Tips from Around the World!

Welcome to Heart to Heart with Honeydew! This week, we talk about how sleep can help you physically and mentally. We also dive into a few sleep tips from abroad and I announce a new pillowcase color!

Did you know that when you don't get enough sleep your body can't repair damaged cells caused by stress and illness? Effective sleep helps the immune system fight off infections as well as recover from illnesses faster.

But it's not all physical changes - it's mental as well! During deep sleep, your brain works on processing information from the day, helping you retain new skills and knowledge.

Not only is great sleep helping you physically - it might be making you smarter!

I'm always looking for great sleep tips to share with you, so I decided to look outside the US this time. Check these out!

In Japan, taking a hot bath before bedtime is believed to be beneficial in helping you relax and drift off to peaceful slumber.
In India, they have an ancient practice known as Yoga Nidra which helps to reduce stress and give the body and mind a restful night's sleep.
In China, sleeping with your feet uncovered is thought to help regulate body temperature and aid in getting a more restful sleep.
In Finland, spending time outside during the daytime helps set your internal clock for better quality sleep at night.
